History Part I
I recently decided to keep a better record about my dealings with anxiety, coupled with depression. I first started having severe cases of anxiety when I started high school. I was fifteen. I had an intense school schedule and was playing sophomore football as a team captain. I began to notice that each day I would feel really low and really scared for a period of time. Finally after a few weeks I broke down and told my parents about my struggles. With their help I got tested for Hypoglycemia by our family physician. We discovered that I was transient hypoglycemic. This just meant that I needed to keep some snacks on hand and keep my blood sugar up. I was sad and frustrated about it because I was very ignorant to myself and how to deal with my problems. I started seeing a psychologist and then a therapist. I began to learn some coping mechanisms and more about my disease.
